As of 2026-09-24, 261 of the 330 tools in the catalogue carry at least one vendor claim. Together they hold 931 claims. Documentation covers most tools for status, pricing model and hosting, while self-healing and test output are not documented for 48 to 57 percent of tools.
What counts as a vendor claim
A vendor claim is an outcome statement, such as a coverage percentage, a time saving or a speed multiplier. The catalogue never turns these statements into facts. Each claim is kept verbatim, with a link and a date, in a block labelled "Vendor-stated, verbatim" on the tool page.
We do not quote any claim in this post. The tool page shows each one in context, next to the documented facts.
How claims are spread
As of 2026-09-24:
- 261 tools have at least one vendor claim.
- 69 tools have none.
- The 931 claims average about 3.6 per tool among the 261 tools that have any.
A vendor claim is different from a vendor-stated fact. A vendor-stated fact is a value, such as a hosting option, that only a marketing page supports. A vendor claim is a statement about results, and the catalogue does not record it as a value at all.
Evidence by fact
The table covers eleven of the facts shown on tool pages. Counts are across 330 tools as of 2026-09-24. Percentages are rounded to whole numbers, so some rows do not add up to 100. Rows are sorted by the documented count.
| Fact | Documented | Vendor-stated | Not documented |
|---|---|---|---|
| Status | 292 (88%) | 32 (10%) | 6 (2%) |
| Pricing model | 277 (84%) | 26 (8%) | 27 (8%) |
| Hosting | 275 (83%) | 37 (11%) | 18 (5%) |
| AI capabilities | 257 (78%) | 56 (17%) | 17 (5%) |
| Surfaces | 231 (70%) | 35 (11%) | 64 (19%) |
| Creation approach | 221 (67%) | 37 (11%) | 72 (22%) |
| Free tier | 220 (67%) | 10 (3%) | 100 (30%) |
| CI integrations | 202 (61%) | 28 (8%) | 100 (30%) |
| Agent integration | 196 (59%) | 9 (3%) | 99 (30%) |
| Test output | 156 (47%) | 16 (5%) | 158 (48%) |
| Self-healing | 93 (28%) | 49 (15%) | 188 (57%) |
The 93 documented self-healing facts include 3 tools whose docs state the feature is not offered.
The agent integration row adds up to 304. The remaining 26 tools have no agent integration fact recorded.
Founding year sits outside the table. It is documented for 5 tools, vendor-stated for 38 and not documented for 90. The remaining 197 tools have no founding year recorded.
Where the gaps are largest
Self-healing has the largest share of tools without documentation. It is not documented for 188 tools, or 57 percent. It also has the second-largest vendor-stated count, at 49 tools. The post Self-healing: documented versus claimed breaks this down by category.
Test output is not documented for 158 tools, or 48 percent. This fact records whether tests can run without the vendor's product. The post Proprietary runner versus standard code covers the values.
AI capabilities has the largest vendor-stated count, at 56 tools. For these tools, the capability list comes only from homepages or feature pages.
Free tier and CI integrations are each not documented for 100 tools. Agent integration is not documented for 99 tools.
Status, pricing model and hosting are documented for 83 percent or more of the catalogue. Under the methodology, pricing pages and terms of service count as documentation.
What "not documented" means
A not-documented fact means we looked on public pages and did not find the value. It does not mean the tool lacks the feature. It means a reader cannot confirm the feature from public documentation as of the verified-on date.
A vendor-stated fact is not necessarily wrong. It has no documentation page behind it, and the catalogue labels it that way. The post How to read evidence levels explains the three levels in more detail.
Reading a tool page
Each fact row on a tool page shows the value, the evidence level, the source link and the verified-on date. Vendor claims appear after the facts in their own labelled block. Facts older than 90 days carry a "verify before relying" flag.
