Playwright CLI

By Microsoft. Category: MCP servers for testing. Homepage

Playwright's documentation describes Playwright CLI as a command-line tool that lets coding agents automate a browser. Agents such as Claude Code and GitHub Copilot use installable skills to drive Chromium, Firefox or WebKit through CLI commands. Each action prints the Playwright code it ran, in TypeScript by default or in Python, Java or C#. The user or agent assembles that code into test files. The CLI runs locally and is free under the Apache-2.0 licence. It is not an MCP server; Playwright MCP is the separate MCP option.
