TestSpark

By JetBrains Research. Category: Unit test generation. Homepage

The JetBrains Research README describes TestSpark as an experimental IntelliJ IDEA plugin that generates unit tests for Java and Kotlin code. It offers three strategies: LLM-based generation through OpenAI, HuggingFace, Google AI or the JetBrains AI Assistant platform with a user-supplied token, search-based generation with EvoSuite, and symbolic execution with Kex. The plugin runs locally in the IDE and produces JUnit tests. It was first built by CISELab at TU Delft and is now maintained by the JetBrains Research Software Testing Research team. The code is MIT-licensed, and the JetBrains Marketplace lists the plugin as free.
